Char Siu Chopped Cheese Sandwich

New York inspired chopped cheese with tangy Char Siu BBQ.

Ingredients
4 hoagie buns

8 slices American cheese (Kraft Singles recommended)

1 1/4 Lb ground beef

1 cup lettuce, chopped

1 large tomato, thinly sliced

1 small onion, thinly sliced

2 tbsp Bowlcut Char Siu BBQ

1 tbsp butter

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1 tbsp garlic powder

Instructions
  1. 1. Halve hoagie buns and lightly toast. Spread one side with mayonnaise.
  2. 2. In a non-stick pan, add butter. Once melted, add onion and cook until fragrant. Set aside.
  3. 3. In the same pan, add ground beef but do not break apart. Season with salt, pepper, Bowlcut Char Siu BBQ, and garlic powder. Sear for 4 minutes. Flip and cook for another 2 minutes.
  4. 4. Slowly break apart the beef in pan, folding through the onions. Once center is no longer pink, divide beef into four equal sized portions.
  5. 5. Add 2 slices of American cheese over each portion and cook for 2 minutes until gooey and melted.
  6. 6. Transfer each portion into hoagie buns. Add shredded lettuce and sliced tomatoes.
